I've been tagged! What is it I'm suppose to do?? Okay I think I have it. :)

This picture was taken in the Spring. My supervisor Ditto went out with me to work in the yard. She is only allowed out in the back yard and inside the fence. I have to watch her to be sure she has not decided to explore out to the driveway. As I was busy working in the yard I noticed that Ditto had disappeared. "Ditto, Ditto where are you?!" Well as I was looking for her I noticed something different in a pot on the patio I just prepared for new plants(s). This is odd who did this? What type of plant is it? Maybe a new type of Catus? A Cattail plant? A Catalpa? Then I realized that was not a new plant that someone was trying to surprise me with, it was my supervisor, Ditto! You just can't find a good supervisor now days!

Everyone I know has been tagged so I guess this tag ends with me! Beware! I may start the next one.

Remember mulch is not just for decoration, it really has a purpose. The mulch helps keep bugs out. In the Winter/Fall it helps keeps the plants warm and protected from frost or freezing weather. In the Spring/Summer it is to help keep moisture in and the roots cool.

Ashton Update

I wanted to let you know that Ashton is scheduled to have his port removed on October 31st. Originally it was to be on the 10th but due to allergies the hospital rescheduled it.

As soon as he is over this little surgery I think he deserves to go visit Bonkers!

Remember a child can choke on a balloon if the balloon pops in their mouth. Please teach the little one to keep all balloons out of their mouths and that latex balloons are a one day day and needs to go in the trash that night!
Happy Halloween Everyone!

I wanted to share some common-sense practices that can make Halloween or Fall Harvest or Treat n Trunk events safer and fun!

Walk, slither and sneak on the sidewalks, NOT the streets.

Look both ways before crossing the street to check for cars, trucks and low flying brooms.

Cross the street only at corners.

Don't hide or cross the street between parked cars.

Wear light colored or reflective type clothing so you are more visible (remember to put reflective tape on bikes, skate boards and brooms too!)

Plan your route and share it with your family. Have an adult go with you.

Carry a flashlight to light your way.

Keep away from open fires and candles. (Costumes can be extremely flammable)

Visit homes that have porch lights on.

Accept your treats at the door and never go into a stranger's house.

Use face paint rather than mask or items that will cover your eyes.

Be cautious of animals and strangers.

Have a grown up inspect your treats before eating, and don't eat candy if the package is already opened.

Small, hard pieces of candy are a chocking hazard for young children.

There are lots of places to go Trick or Treating this year. Area Church's are having Fall/Autumn Harvest or Treat or Trunk. The mall is passing out candy. The City of Lewisville is having Autumn Extravaganza on Oct 25th admission is 1.00 and they will be having a costume contest for different age groups. So check your local area and see what safe and fun events are in your area.

Got to fly!

We had the Fire Dept Open House yesterday. It was a lot of fun. We saw old friends that we see every year and made new ones. A co-worker came up and brought her daughter and 2 cousins.. That was fun. There was a little boy that decided he like Petunia and wanted her to hold him. I believe that went on for about 5 mins. Sweet little one! We heard the Drums and Pipes play. Oh! I love to hear the bagpipes. They demostrated the Jaws of life. I finally had the chance to see one. We meet Storm, Pepper and Hope that are area Search Dogs. Careflight came that was a hit. Over all it was a lot of fun. We will have some pictures up next week for you to look at. Bryan will post them to www.laughingj.com. Web album. If you would like to see a video that Cary (chestMutt Productions) put together go to http://lewisville-lafs.webs.com. it is really good!

Does your family know where your meeting place is. Talk about it today!

Ashton's Test Results

I wanted to let you know that the MRI and blood work on Ashton came back. He is cancer free!

Now we need to encourage him to use his prosthetic leg. He gets around very well without it but I think once he uses it we will need to be in running shoes!

I want to tell you something Ashton told his mother one day. They were to talk to him about his new leg. Kim told him he would be able to walk with the new leg. He looked down at his one and looked back up and told his mom " No! RUN!" Is that not the sweetest words.
If you would like to read more on Ashton please scroll down an entry or two. There will be more on Ashton as time goes by so feel free to stop by and check in.

Again THANK YOU for all the prayers this last year.

Please donate your unused toys to your local Children's Hospital.

They're Not Heavy, They're My BROTHERS

As many of you know I have a lot of siblings! Well I had the chance to see Toney my oldest younger brother this week. He and his wife Angie drove in from South Carolina.

I think the last time he was in was about 5 years ago. I enjoyed seeing him and listening to him talk. I had to keep reminding him he was from Texas. He has been in South Carolina for almost 20 years now. He is still Toney.

Toney is a very proud grandfather of 2 year old Lathan. Lathan's name for Toney is Pappa Tex. Lathan has this 6' 4 " man wrapped around his little finger.

Toney and I were close as children since we were only 3 years apart and no other siblings at the time.

I guess one of my many favorite memories is when the Sears Toy catalog came and he and I would go through it front and back circling the toys we wanted. He always wanted Trucks and Tractors. Don't worry I played with them too. He made some really neat roads to drive them on. He would take the time to build hills, and trees.

Wow! He is so laid back and enjoying life as it comes to him. I guess that is where we are different! Be thankful Toney, be thankful!

Angie is so sweet and just an angel. She has to be a saint to take on that Martin Temper curse! I don't have a lot of pictures of her since she was behind her camera taking pictures too.

I really need to go visit Toney in South Carolina. I guess the warning Toney gave me is keeping me away. Once you visit there you don't want to come back to Texas. I do have plans to visit but I'm a TEXAN and I will come back home.

Love ya Toney!
to be con't.....

Remember to tell your love ones how much you love them today!

ASHTON UPDATE

I wanted to update everyone on Ashton's progress. Ashton has completed his chemo and radiation treatments. His hair has grown back and it is a light strawberry blond. I do not think his developement slowed down at all. He can talk clearly and form sentences. I played with him for almost 4 hours. When I told him I had to leave, he told me "NO!" Well what is Tia T to do? I stayed a little longer of course. :)

He is scheduled for a MRI on Oct 2nd and blood work on Oct 3rd. If everything looks good they will remove the port from his chest this month. Now if we could just encourage him to put on and wear his prosthesis leg then you would never think he was a young cancer survivor.

I want to THANK each of you for your prayers. The pictures tell you the story of how prayers work!

I will keep you posted here on the blog as Ashton adjust to life cancer free, as a two year old should be.

September is National Children's Cancer Awareness Month.
