Santa and the Fire Truck

In an earlier blog I told you how much fun we have when we are in the parades and get a chance to see all our friends and families while riding on top of the fire equipment.

Well it is even better when we get a chance to be Mr and Mrs Santa on top of the Fire Equipment . We get to wave to everyone and wish them a Merry Christmas and throw candy to the kids. Oh to here the shills of the kids and them screaming SANTA CLAUSE!!! We have had some come out just wrapped in bath towels. Oh Look...there is Mrs Clause too! I think the adults get just as excited to see Santa and the children do.

The Lewisville Fire Dept is really good to us each time we go to ride out. We rode out at Station 4 one night. One of the crew, Glen lives right down the road from Dad and Barbara. We rode out at Station 1 with Kelly from the media of ESPN. She was soooo nice and fun. We mainly rode out out station 3. Thanks to all of you for letting us have soooo much fun!!!!

We had to make a grass fire on our first night out. We wished we had a camera and we would have taken pictures of Santa fighting a grass fire. As we were getting down to go to the fire we had children rushing up to the equipment to see us. The Crew had to get on the PA System and tell them "Mr and Mrs Santa had to go to a fire. They will be back" Yes the crew took us right back to the same place we had to stop.
We had the chance to go through our neighborhood and wish our neighbors a Merry Christmas. Santa received cookies and a card from one family off Blair Oaks.
One of our friends children saw Santa ducking to miss a tree branch and yelled, "Santa are you okay?", in a very concerned voice.
While riding out at Station 4 someone followed us to give Santa a picture. I hope Glen still has that one.
We had several times people would follow us until we stopped to get off the truck and we would have the chance to visit with the children a little more.
We went out on the second coldest night. We made sure to layer really good. (3 layers) It was a little chilly but to hear the children scream for Santa keeps you warm.
Cary had the chance to ride out too. He had to stay in the cab but it sounded like he had fun. I hope so.
This is just some of the stories we have. I tried to keep a journal but was never able to keep up.
I hope you had lots of memories this Christmas too.

MERRY CHRISTMAS!
Lewisville Fire Department and CCA Food Drive

Lewisville Fire Dept had a Food Drive for CCA on Dec 13 and 14th. Bryan and I got to be Mr. and Mrs. Santa Clause for 4 hours. Our friends Jeff and Regina were the real Mr. and Mrs. Santa Clause. With their hard work, Chief Carter and his family, Summer and so many others it was Awesome.

They turned the Police Dept training room into Santa's Workshop. What a transformation! We do have a lot of pictures taken by each other and by Whitney.

We did collect a lot for CCA , I think being the first drive we have done. I want to say it covered the floor of the van and more. I hope we get a chance to do it again next year.
For those of you that was not here on Christmas Day, if you would like a picture or the whole set (4) of Bryan and I as Mr and Mrs Santa please let us know we will get them to you. If you would like some of Jeff and Regina let me know and I will ask them if they mind sharing.

Wow it is already 2009. Sorry I have not had any real updates but Bryan and I have been very busy. So I will try to get everyone caught up.

Let's see after a great and fun filled Thanksgiving Day, Bryan left for Denver. I started the Christmas decorations and Jennifer and Cary pitched in. Bryan came home and we finished the inside and outside decorations just in time for the Holiday at the Hall parade Dec6th. We were able to get the outside lights up and still make it to the parade. We have such a great time seeing all our friends and family from a top the fire truck. Thanks for coming and all your support you show us all through the years. I will post pictures as soon as we can down load them so stay tune.....
